Quantum voltmeter (PJVS)
Using a highly integrated, binary-divided series array of approximately 70,000 Josephson junctions cooled to 4 Kelvin, the Quantum Voltmeter (PJVS) exploits Josephson effects to generate voltages that are independent of location and time with uncertainties of less than 1×10⁻¹⁰ (equivalent to 1 nV at 10 V). With the implemented circuits, any voltage between -10 V and +10 V can be programmed with the highest possible accuracy. By rapidly switching between different voltage levels, step-shaped AC signals can even be generated as a basis for constant reference voltages. This enables voltage meters for demanding applications in medical and laboratory technology, electronics, and other industrial sectors to be calibrated with utmost precision.
JAWS
With the Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer (JAWS), Supracon AG provides its customers with quantum-based generators capable of producing freely programmable waveforms. These quantum-accurate output signals can range from DC (direct current) up to gigahertz frequencies and, due to their quantum nature, ensure minimal noise and the highest possible long-term signal stability, thus meeting the requirements for ultimate precision. With these characteristics, JAWS opens up a wide range of applications for users in industry and science, including calibrations in metrology and the control of qubits for quantum computers.
