SQUID gradiometer system

with increased information density for high-resolution mapping and characterization of geological structures for raw material and groundwater exploration.

Jessy Star

QMAGT is the new brand name for the system that was formerly called FTMG or JESSY STAR. For marketing this breakthrough full tensor magnetic gradiometer technology Supracon has partnered up with Canadian DIAS Geophysics company and formed a joint venture DIAS Airborne.

QMAGT is the world's only available measurement system for airborne measurements of the complete Earth´s magnetic field gradient tensor, using at least 5 individual sensors (gradiometers) to acquire complete information on spatial magnetic field variations. The system is optimized for passive acquisition of magnetic information over large areas. Previous versions, like the mentioned JESSY STAR, have already completed thousands of flight hours in measurement modes based on helicopters and fixed-wing arrangements.

The system is qualified for passive and non-contact subsurface investigation by means of magnetic gradients and provides an innovative basis for the localization and quantification of structures embedded in the subsurface by means of modeling and inversion.

Advantages compared to conventional technology

High signal repetition rate

up to 0,7 MΦ0/s possible

Low noise level

Below 20 fT/sqrt(Hz)

Direct measurement

of three orthogonal magnetic field components

Wide dynamic range

complete mapping of the earth's magnetic field (up to ±65µT)
